This Sword is based on the A459 in the Wallace Collection in London. It is one of the finest Medieval Swords surviving today.
The A459 was Ewart Oakeshott’s favourite Medieval Sword. Raven Armoury’s first reproduction of this sword, forged over 30 years ago, was commissioned by Ewart. The Wallace Collection kindly granted us permission to examine the original sword first hand.
The blade is deeply hollow ground with thick spines, tapering throughout its length.
The balance and heft of this sword is excellent.
