This was my first full-size bronze skeleton. A unique sculpture in homage to the birth of the iPod and its hugely talented British designer, Sir Jonathan ‘Jony’ Ive.

I called him ‘Empathy’ (MP3). He attracted a lot of interest, even appearing on one of the first-generation iPod skins. He is listening to a custom made eyepod and smoking a cigarette. His skull holds a single “real feel” Silicon prosthetic eye. 

The headphones are made in Steel, Copper and Leather. The cigarette is Mammoth Ivory with rusty wire-wool tobacco. His other eye is trapped in the centre of the control dial of his eyepod.

The eyepod was made in ebony and silver with a blued steel screen and an apple core engraved on the back of the silver case to represent the ‘skeleton’ of Apple.
