This is a generic 14C Medieval Short Sword – ‘Little Bastard’. This is a unique sword.
The handle is stabilised 2000 year old English Oak, which originally formed part of the Roman docks in London. The guard and pommel is in steel, similar in style to the A459 in the Wallace Collection. All with a distressed, patinated finish. The hand and a half length grip lends the sword its nickname.
Weighing in at 2lb 8oz. The sturdy blade is ground from 1/4″ stock 80 CrV2 high carbon spring steel.
Point of balance is 2 1/2 ” from the guard.
The overall length is 33 1/2″.
The blade length is 26″.
