Wielded by Skilgannon The Damned in David Gemmell’s Novels: White Wolf and The Swords of Night and Day.

This is a numbered Limited Edition of only Fifty sets of The Swords of Night and Day.

Each set of swords and scabbard has over two pounds of Sterling Silver in the fittings. These swords are hand made and various options are available for the engravings and materials.

The gem stud on top of the hilt retracts the steel teeth that lock the blade into the Scabbard.

Each sword has two cabochon trillion gemstones set into the hilt, Rubies for Night and Emeralds for Day. The grips are made in Ivory Micarta, the fittings for the scabbard and the swords are Sterling Silver.

The images here show two different prototype sets.

The first pair of swords have undecorated blades and a leather bound ash scabbard. The second pair are the original prototypes. The fullers are engraved with runes, inlaid in gold for Day and silver for Night.

‘Press the ruby stud on the hilt,’ said Skilgannon. ‘It will release the blade.’ The moment Damalon pressed the stud a sword slid clear, Moonlight shone upon the silver steel and the runes engraved there.
Damalon pressed an Emerald stud on the second hilt. The black scabbard fell to the ground as a second blade slid clear. It shone like gold, bright and precious.”

When I was working on the first Snaga I had the inscription “Sender, The Blades Of No Return” translated into Old Norse and then transposed into Runes. David wanted the runic inscriptions on Snaga to have real meaning and we decided that Old Norse would be the most appropriate.

These Swords are our tribute to David Gemmell.

We are engraving the blades with the titles of David’s books transposed into Old Norse runes.

There are thirty two titles in all, eight in each fuller, sixteen on each sword. The runes are inlaid with Gold on the Sword of Day and Silver on the Sword of Night.
