Initially I made this piece to illustrate the agony of a cluster headache, but I have found that the emotions emanating from him have a broader resonance. It may be the pain of a migraine but it could equally be reaching the end of one’s tether, it might be utter frustration or fearful torturous despair – the list could go on a while…

His hands are pulling open his skull ripping it from the back through to his right eye socket. My cluster headaches usually attack just the right hand side of my head and my likeness is reflecting this. His jaw and skull are profoundly distorted on the right, the left is untouched by pain.
