A miniature crucified medieval Jester in Silvered Bronze nailed onto a Roman oak cross. His skull is tilted slightly to the left and he has been sculpted with an expression of sorrow. Even his hat, with bells drooping down, seems somehow forlorn. The Oak that his cross is made from was felled around 70AD and was part of the early Roman settlement of Londinium. Buried for centuries the timber was recently unearthed and Raven Armoury was lucky enough to acquire a few pieces.
Each miniature skeleton sculpture is unique, individually handmade bone by bone in wax then cast into bronze using the ancient art of lost-wax casting. He is part of a limited edition of just 13 pieces in silvered bronze.
